Upcoming Events:

Blythe Colours 150th Anniversary Display

This was scheduled to take place in September 2020, however due to the COVID-19 this has now been rescheduled to take place in 2021.

As part of the Staffordshire Library Service's History Festival, this video was made to celebrate the anniversary.

Originally the video was hosted on the Staffordshire County Council YouTube channel, this is a slightly re-edited version.

Textiles Display

Cheadle has a long history of textiles, firstly due to links to the Philips' tape business in Tean and secondly a silk mill built by the Arnold family.  This display/exhibition will be at Cheadle Community Library, once COVID-19 restrictions make it possible.

As part of the Staffordshire Library Service's History Festival, this video was made as a substitute for the display.

Originally the video was hosted on the Staffordshire County Council YouTube channel, this is a slightly re-edited version.

We still plan on having the display in the library during 2021.

Past Event:

Cheadle Remembers the War Horses

This event was part of a larger Great War project managed by our group. The day recreated the events of August 1914, when horses from Cheadle and the local area were requisitioned by the army at the start of the Great War.
